REVIEW: Esme Organics Cold Wax

I'm sure I’m not the only one who dreads plucking/shaving/waxing unwanted body hair. I mean, who wouldn’t? It hurts and it’s such a drag. We need to do it as a often as needed for hygienic reasons (which I am totally for, but it’s just such a painful process ugh) and we want it as easy but precise as possible. So we always think of ways to get the job done, and I discovered waxing. Cold wax is a soft paste formulated to knife consistency. Unlike hot wax, there is no need to heat cold wax and is just used as it is.

INGREDIENTS

• Sucrose
• Aqua
• Organic Honey
• Citrus
• Essential Oil
• Moisturizer
• Colorant
• Whitening Extract

I think the ingredients are quite vague and did not exactly detail what they were. But I’ve used it a lot of times now and not once did it have any negative effects on my skin. Don’t take my word for it though, we have different skintypes and of course, not all that works for me would work on you too. But according to Esme Organic, hair removal is safe for all skin types and their wax never adheres to live skin cells but only the hair and dead skin cells will be removed. Anyway, it’s always best to do skin tests first.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

1. Wash and dry your hands and the area to be waxed.
2. Get a small amount from the tub and knead it until it’s easy enough to spread to your skin. (Honestly it’s so hard you might need to use some kind of metal, I use a knife actually)
3. Spread the sugaring across the wax area in the direction of the hair growth.
4. Pull of quickly in the opposite direction.
5. Repeat until all unwanted hair is gone.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT

• It smells so great! (I’m currently using Mango Banana and it seriously smells like mango banana. LOL)
• Affordable, they said you can even use it for 6-9 months (Still depends how often you wax)
• When I started using it, it actually made my underarm hair grow slower, which means longer free time before I need to shave again.

WHAT I DON’T LIKE

• The sugaring is sooooo hard to knead. I hurts my hand lol
• Too sticky unlike shaving
• Needs a lot of sugaring to cover wax area if you don’t knead it properly (which is hard to do)

VERDICT

Cold Wax is hard to use and you need to be patient with it. I think removing unwanted body hair is always a pain anyway unless you actually go to a waxing salon to get someone else to do the job for you (which I can’t ‘cause I’m a peasant.lol). For me cold wax is the most convenient and effective way to remove unwanted hairs. Besides, being a working girl and all, I wouldn’t have enough time to prepare hot wax if I need because I would rather be doing other important things (but waxing is important too!).

I have tried hair removal creams but they’re not able to remove the roots as cold wax does and I am not satisfied with just shaving. When underarm hair grows back again after shaving they tend to be thick and hard which often irritates my skin and I haven’t experienced that after using cold wax. I’d give this product a thumbs up.
