My Japan Bucket List

I was looking through my blog notes in the hopes of feeling motivated to write again when I saw this list I made almost two years ago. I have crossed out some of the things in my list but I still have a lot to do. 2020 and this year haven't been very giving, but since Japan has approved and is slowly rolling out vaccines maybe there is hope soon. So here is a list of the things I want to do while living in Japan:

  • Visit Universal Studios Japan
  • Go to Hitachi Seaside Park every season to see all the seasonal flowers
  • Visit Disney Land and Disney Sea
  • Take pictures at Kimi No Nawa locations in Shinjuku
Kinkakuji (金閣寺, Golden Pavilion)
  • See the Golden Pavillion
  • Enjoy Kyoto, Nara and Osaka (I've been to Kyoto but I didn't really enjoy it when I went there)
  • Visit the temple from Hatorobi No Mori E
Kōtoku-in (鎌倉大仏殿高徳院)
  • Take pictures with the Giant Buddha in Kamakura (Go inside too)
  • Attend Pikachu Outbreak
  • Go to The Little Prince Museum
  • Visit Hakone Tori (I saw it from afar but I'll consider that counted lol)
Ghibli Museum
  • Go to Ghibli Museum
  • Try a cat/dog/animal cafe
  • Visit a Maid Cafe (Just because)
  • Walk aroung Akihabara
  • Take photos in a kimono
  • Take a picture at Shibuya Crossing
  • Take pictures with Hachiko
  • Ride the Yokohama Ferris Wheel
  • Visit the Ramen Museum
Cup Noodles Museum

  • Go to the Cup Noodles Museum
  • Attend Harry Styles Concert in Tokyo
  • Pass N2 JLPT Exam
  • Travel to Hokkaido
  • Go to Sapporo/Kita Kita location
Team Lab Borderless
  • Go to Team Lab Borderless
  • Play bowling with friends
  • Learn how to play tennis
  • Have coffee at the biggest Starbucks Reserve in Japan
Tokyo Starbucks Reserve
  • Go to an Onsen/Visit an Onsen Village
Yamanashi
  • Go skiing
  • Visit Sanrio Puroland
  • Take a good shot of Mt. Fuji
  • Spend a summer vacation in Okinawa
  • Go to a 2D Cafe
  • Go to a Sailormoon Cafe
  • Go shopping at the biggest Animate Cafe
  • Go to the Pokemon Cafe
Pokemon Cafe


  • Find the special Pokemon man hole covers
  • See an Anime Stage Play (When I learn Nihongo)
  • Visit the Totoro Cafe
Shin Okubo
  • Eat samgyupsal at Shin Okubo
  • Join the Halloween Party in Shibuya
  • Visit Ueno Park in autumn
  • See the panda in Ueno Zoo
  • Touch a beluga
  • See the Sakura Festival in Hitachi
  • Eat at a yakiniku restaurant
  • Have a picnic/ohanami
Harajuku
  • Go shopping at Harajuku
  • Strut Takeshita Street in a Lolita outfit
  • Attend World Cosplay Summit
  • Cosplay in Japan during cherry blossom season
  • Move to Tokyo
  • Take Nihongo Classes
  • Fill my Goshuincho
I'm pretty sure I will be updating this list in the future. I haven't really decided how long I'll be living in Japan but for now I want to enjoy every moment of it.
