The Sacred Self-Care Oracle Deck || Reading: Week 1

My friend Alex got me interested in Tarot Cards. He did a reading for me once and I found it very interesting. It also was good guidance for the questions and thoughts I had at the time. One time when I was walking around a nearby bookstore, I found out they were selling different types of tarot cards. I've always thought the illustrations on the different decks were aesthetic and I wanted to see what other types there are. I happened to find The Sacred Self-Care Oracle Deck while I was browsing through Amazon JP. I thought it was beautiful so I decided to purchase it.

It's always hard to take care of oneself. We always think about what other people might think or feel, disregarding yourself. I, too, am guilty of this. I care so much about the world that I forget that it should be me first. Self-care should always be the first priority.

I would use this deck to guide me whenever I have self doubts, personal issues or just to decide what to do on a relaxing weekend. I do believe that the best thing is to meditate and pray always but it's fun to try to use this deck too. This deck will just be a visual guidance on what I would do about the things I would read about.

It includes a Guidebook with the meaning of each card and how to use your deck.

Every week I will do a Self-care For The Soul Oracle Spread Reading, and I would be posting them here and try to interpret how they are connected to my question and my life. This category will be somewhat a personal journal of mine where I reflect on my life with the cards I draw from the deck.

I have to select 3 cards for the Self-care For The Soul spread:
1. Inner Child: What does your Inner Child need to express?
2. Present Self: What do you need in the now?
3. Higher Self: What does you Higher Self want you to focus on?

Each of the card also has Journal Prompts which I will be including in my reflections.

THE SACRED SELF CARE ORACLE READING: WEEK 1

I always know when I start having PMS (Pre-Menstrual Syndrome). I start to get annoyed with the tiniest of things. I get so emotional about things even ones that happened in the past. I've noticed that this week's been just that. I always tell my friends I wish I could decided what kind of emotions I feel during this time of the month. So I decided on a question related to it.

What should I do about my PMS?

42. READ

Inner Child

I've always loved reading. I used to refer to myself as a bookworm or a bibliophile and deep inside, I probably still am.  I started reading books when I was in High School. Probably too late for my Inner Child but since my parents didn't really like to read I was a late bloomer.  I owned and read a lot of books back home. I used to binge read series and be up late reading them. When I get hold of books they wouldn't last a week until they're finished.

For a little more than 2 years I suddenly stopped reading. I would read a book or two but not as prolific as before. I think I lost a part of me for a time.

This year, I started reading again. I recently bought an affordable tablet from Amazon and bought eBooks from Kindle. I'm currently reading I AM NUMBER FOUR and I'm actually almost finished reading it! I'm so happy! This card is probably reminding me to finish the book this weekend so I could start reading the next book in the series lol!

Journal Prompt: What was your favorite book to read as a kid, and how does it make you feel to think about reading it now?

As I mentioned above, I'm a late bloomer with reading books. As a kid I didn't have a lot of books to read, but I do remember quite clearly that I used to borrow my cousins' big book of Fairy Tales. That's where I first learned about the story of Cinderella, The Little Match Girl and The Emperor's Clothes (which if you think about it are not very child-friendly. Domestic abuse, poverty and nudity lol). I would re-read them for sure, although I would most likely prefer the original versions of it that were definitely not suitable for children.

5. BEAUTY RITUAL

Present Self

I know how important skin care is, but lately for reasons I'm not sure of, I have been neglecting it. I made a list of my skin care for everyday but I still don't follow it. The weekend is a good chance to actually do it and I wonder if I actually will. Haha.

What do I consider as a Beauty Ritual?
1. Face Mask
2. Exfoliate
3. A hot bath
4. Moisturize
5. Relaxing evening
6. Sleep

I've been feeling down and ugly because of my PMS so I think a Beauty Ritual would really help me get my spirits up. Maybe somehow make me feel good about myself.

Journal Prompt: What could you do to make your daily beauty ritual feel more sacred?

Hmm... I think to make my daily beauty ritual feel more sacred, I will think of it as something to energize me and feel more relaxed. My job can sometimes be stressful and tiring so a beauty ritual is something I definitely need.

22. ENERGY WORK

Higher Self

This centers more on my soul, I believe. I know I haven't been the best spiritually and everyday I try to be the best version of my self but with all the problems this world is giving us it can be hard sometimes. I never lose faith though. I still have the same strength in my faith as I had before and always will.

Religion is something I never want to discuss with other people. I am never one to start a conversation on it because I always feel like things will end up in arguments. I'm slowly getting past that. I might not be the best person to ask about the questions you might have about my faith, but you can try joining our Online Evangelical Missions through this channel: Iglesia Ni Cristo EVangelical Mission.

If you are interested to get your own Sacred Self-Care Oracle Deck, it's available on Amazon Japan or their official website HERE.

Until the next reading!
Stay safe and self-care!
