Surprise! I now live in Japan. If you read My 2019 Goals blog post, you will know about the "opportunity" I mentioned about on the last part of the post. It is actually about me working in Japan, and now, I'm actually here.
It has now
been a month and a day of me living here in Japan. Thankfully, I haven’t been
that homesick since I got here (only for that one time I missed my mom’s cooking)
which made it less harder being away. It has been a nice month and I am still
super happy about getting to live here because it has always been my dream to
be able to go to Japan and now I even have a resident card which is even more
awesome.
It is now
my 2nd week here in Hitachi, Ibaraki where I live (1 week spent at
Okayama, Japan where we had our training). Hitachi is a very quiet place and
not many people walk around the streets even during the day but I’d say they
have a decent ‘night life’ going on (there's this cool bar/American diner we went to called Cottons, I might blog about it next time). The first week I was here the cherry
blossoms were in full bloom and I was so lucky because Hitachi has one of the
most beautiful spots to see them in Japan. I wasn’t able to capture them during
that time because I was still trying to adjust to my new life here and I’d say
it was indeed stressful at first. But it is easy to love Hitachi, it is a
beautiful place.
I just
wanted to share some bits and pieces of my new life here in Japan.
This is the view from my balcony. Not really a nice view but I don't hang out in the balcony anyway.
I haven't put decorations in my apartment yet but I love the view.
My cute study table with the soon-to-be decorations on my wall.
My toilet sink. I put in that flower there and obviously, I love pink.
Heiwa Street
Cherry Blossoms
Some of the cherry blossoms are still in full bloom.
In front of the flower shop near my area. Seeing bicycles like this reminds me of animes I love.
I was able to find a cute bake shop in the area that makes beautiful pastries.
Isn't it pretty?
Flowers for sale.
They have Yoshinoya here.
It still makes me happy to see Vending Machines eventhough they are everywhere here in Japan.
I'm not sure if you can see it, but there is a theme park there in the mountain over there. I would visit it soon.
Beautiful flower beds are in every street.
Are these tulips? Imagine tulips by the side of the road?!
I don't usually see police mobiles here as well, this is a first.
A small store across my apartment. The owner is really nice too.
I was so happy when I saw this shrine because this brings my anime dreams to reality.
I noticed that there are a lot of dogs here. The dog owners' are really nice and they let me pet their dogs. I'm so happy.
I have always imagined living in Japan since I was young and now I am actually here. If you do want to know why I'm here and how I got here, you can watch my video here:
This is actually just a short update about my life here in Japan but I'll try to update you guys as much as I can. I will need to pack because I will be heading to Tokyo for Golden Week (A major holiday here in Japan) on May 1st and we will staying there for 5 days. I will definitely post about it here. Have a nice summer there in the Philippines, a happy holiday for Japan peepz like me, and a nice day to the world!
Enjoy Japan! I can't wait to visit there again. One of my favorite games to play when I was there was "Vending Machine Roulette". Walk up to a machine, pick out a drink at random, buy it, taste it and try to guess what the heck I just drank.
